FEATURED: Casting Announced for the UK Tour of ‘The King and I’


Reprising their critically acclaimed performances in The King And I, West End’s Annalene Beechey and Broadway’s Jose Llana star in the multi-award winning Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King And I.

The greatest musical from the golden age of musicals – adored by the public and critics alike – with one of the finest scores ever written including; Whistle a Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, and Shall We Dance, and featuring a company of over 50 world-class performers and a full-scale orchestra.

A celebration of the lavish heritage of the very best in romantic musical theatre from an unparalleled multi-award-winning creative team, hailed as one of the best working in theatre today, directed by Tony Award winner Bart Sher (South Pacific & My Fair Lady – Broadway).

Joining Beechey and Llana will be Ethan Le Phong as Lun Tha,  Paulina Yeung as Tuptim, Cezarah Bonner as Lady Thiang, Kok-Hwa Lie as Kralahome and Aaron Teoh Guan Ti as Prince Chulalongkorn. Philip Bulcock will play the dual roles of Captain Orton and Sir Edward Ramsay, and William M Lee will play Phra Alack.

The female ensemble includes Jessica Gomes-Ng, Sunny Yeo, Yuki Abe, Miiya Alexandra, Aiko Kato, Misa Koide, Ela Lisondra, Yuki Ozeki, Ena Yamaguchi and Sian Yeo.

The male ensemble includes Iroy Abesamis, Cletus Chan, Steven Hardcastle, Eu Jin Hwang, Jesse Milligan, Prem Rai and Joaquin Pedro Valdes.

Swings include Rachel Jayne Picar, Nick Len, Jasmine Leung and Samuel How.

The production features design by Michael Yeargan, costume design by Tony Award-winner Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Donald Holder, sound design by Scott Lehrer, choreography by Chistoper Gattelli, musicial supervision by Ted Sperling and musical direction by Stephen Ridley.
