Following their critically acclaimed production of ‘Duet for One‘, Aspect Theatre return to Stratford-upon-Avon’s The Attic Theatre to present a classic piece of British theatre, ‘After Miss Julie’.
July 1945. A country house in England. Celebrations are in full swing for the Labour
Party’s landslide election victory. With her father in London, the lady of the house, Miss Julie, descends to join the servants’ party and seek out John, her father’s chauffeur. Emboldened by drink and the liberation signalled by the new government, the pair test the limits of their potential freedom.
Set on the cusp of sweeping social change, Patrick Marber’s updating of Strindberg’s Miss Julie explores the timeless and universal issues of class and sexual desire.
‘After Miss Julie’ will run at the Attic Theatre from 19th to 23rd November 2019.
