FEATURED: Casting Announced for the West End Production of ‘Dear Evan Hansen’

Casting has been announced for the West End production of Tony Award-winning musical, ‘Dear Evan Hansen’.

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in.

Both deeply personal and profoundly contemporary, DEAR EVAN HANSEN is a new musical about life and the way we live it.

Taking on the lead role of Evcan Hansen will be Sam Tutty, who most recently starred in the BTA production of ‘Once at This Island’ at the Southward Playhouse. He will be joined by graduate Lucy Anderson as Zoe Murphy, Rebecca McKinnis as Heidi, graduate Doug Colling as Conor Murphy, Lauren Ward as Cynthia Murphy, Rupert Young as Larry Murphy, Jack Loxton as Jared and Nicole Raquel Dennis as Alana.

David Breeds will cover the roles of Evan, Connor and Jared, Alex Thomas-Smith will cover the roles of Evan and Jared, and Marcus Harman will play the alternate Evan Hansen and cover for Connor and Jared. Making his West End debut, Haydn Cox will cover Connor and Jared.

Tricia Adele-Turner and Hannah Lindsey will cover Heidi and Cynthia, while Natalie Kassanga and Courtney Stapleton will cover Zoe and Alana. James Winter and Mark Peachey will both cover Larry.

Directed by Michael Greif, the musical features design from David Korins, projection design from Peter Nigrini, costume design from Emily Rebholz, lighting design from Japhy Weideman, sound design from Nevin Steinberg, hair design from David Brian Brown, and music supervision, orchestrations and additional arrangements by Alex Lacamoire.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN has struck a remarkable chord with audiences and critics everywhere. The New York Times calls it “a gut-punching, breathtaking knockout of a musical.” And NBC Nightly News calls this bold new musical “an anthem resonating on Broadway and beyond.”

‘Dear Evan Hansen’ opens in prviews at the Noël Coward Theatre on 29th October 2019, with an official opening night on 19th November.
