We Will Rock You‘, UK Tour

“‘We Will Rock You’ tells the story of a globalized future without musical instruments. A handful of rock rebels, the Bohemians, fight against the all-powerful Globalsoft company and its boss, the Killer Queen; they fight for freedom, individuality and the rebirth of the age of rock. Scaramouche and Galileo, two young outsiders, cannot come to terms with the bleak conformist reality. They join the Bohemians and embark on the search to find the unlimited power of freedom, love and Rock!”

Following its triumphant 2010 and 2011 UK theatre tours, and its 2013 10th Anniversary world arena tour, the smash hit global phenomenon returns as Queen‘s and Ben Elton‘s ‘We Will Rock You‘ announces a re-imagined UK and Ireland tour for 2019/2020, kicking off in September 2019.

The announcement of the We Will Rock You UK & Ireland tour follows hot on the heels of the release of the hugely anticipated Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. The smash hit film, celebrating the career of one of the greatest ever rock bands has wowed Queen fans all around the world, opening at the number one box office position in over 30 countries.

Since 2002, over 16 million theatregoers in 19 countries have been thrilled by this awe-inspiring production. With a book by Ben Elton (Blackadder, The Young Ones), this hilarious futurist comedy is fashioned around more than 24 of Queen’s greatest hits, including ‘We Are The Champions’, ‘Radio Ga Ga’, ‘I Want To Break Free’, ‘Somebody To Love’, ‘Killer Queen’, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, ‘Under Pressure’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ and of course, ‘We Will Rock You’. Before closing its glorious 12 year run at London’s Dominion Theatre, the show was performed an astonishing 4600 times.

The show has seen unprecedented success in theatres and arenas around the world, and this nine-month tour will see the Rock Theatrical performed in front of thousands of rock fans in Bromley, Ipswich, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Derry, Dublin, Southend, Leeds, Nottingham, Plymouth, Glasgow, Blackpool, Hull, Southampton, Manchester, Aberdeen, Bradford, Canterbury, Oxford, Llandudno, Bristol, Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham, Norwich, Northampton, Bournemouth and Stoke.

“The sheer power of the best Queen numbers strikes hard” (Financial Times) in this “Magnifico” production (The Sun).

“The show is live, dangerous and more than anything else: it rocks!” – Brian May, Queen.

“‘We Will Rock You’ reflects the scale and spectacle that marked Queen’s live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history. With Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor as music supervisors and ‘a band without parallel’ in the theatre behind the cast, the audience can expect ‘We Will Rock You’ to rock as fiercely as the best of Queen’s concerts”.
